The terms Solander would run on.
This is a preview placeholder — the final terms will be settled with counsel before the venue opens. It is written to show the shape and intent of the real document, not to bind anyone. Nothing on this preview is a live service, and no real account, payment or shipment exists here.
Solander is a private preview, so there is nothing live to agree to yet. What follows is the shape and intent of the venue’s terms of use — non-custodial by design, honest about what it does and does not do, to be finalised with counsel before launch.
What Solander is
Solander is a venue: a census of fine-press editions and a board where members list copies and find each other. It is not the seller of any copy, and it is not a party to the sale. Members deal directly with one another.
We never touch your money
Solander is non-custodial. There is no balance, no wallet, and no third-party holding account — not the mechanism, and not under any other name. Buyers pay sellers directly through PayPal Goods & Services, the only PayPal option with buyer Purchase Protection. We never hold, route, or refund funds, and we never set or store a final sale price.
PayPal adjudicates money under its own terms; Solander adjudicates reputation. When a sale goes wrong, we coach you to the PayPal claim and line up your evidence — we do not issue refunds, because we never held the payment.
Evidence, not authentication
Solander makes no authentication claim and does not certify any copy as genuine. What the venue provides is structured evidence — per-component grading, an enforced photo set, a copy registry — and the tools to settle a sale honestly. Members are responsible for the accuracy of what they list; under-disclosure is a reputation matter handled through the feedback process below.
Listing and claiming
Listing a copy contributes its details to the census and registry. Claiming a copy is a commitment: by the convention the venue inherits, you do not back out once you claim, and the queue is shown honestly so first-in-line is fair rather than hidden. These conventions are enforced through reputation, not through any hold on your money.
Feedback and disputes
Feedback is structured and factual — it measures condition-honesty and packing, not free-text character attacks — and is governed by a notice, review and removal process. This is deliberate: the venue operates under jurisdictions without a broad publisher immunity, so it does not host an unstructured public accusation surface.
Shipping and the packing standard
Sellers are expected to ship to the Solander Packing Standard for the value band, with the honest declared value and the packing photographs the standard requires. The standard is the baseline a dispute is measured against and a precondition of the insurance it relies on.
Preview status
This preview is a demonstration. Listings, sellers, prices and drops shown on the site are illustrative; no copy is for sale, and no account, payment, claim or shipment is real. These preview terms bind no one. The final, counsel-reviewed terms of use will replace this page before the venue opens.
